Given how similar the iPhone 14 looks to the iPhone 13, it is not too surprising that their prices are not far apart.
In this review, we will explore the iPhone 14 specs and features as well as the iPhone 14 Price in Nigeria. So you’ll be able to decide if this smartphone is suitable for you.
The iPhone 14 went on sale on September 16, 2022, with preorders commencing on September 9 of 2022
In general, those who already enjoy the iPhone 13 will find that Apple’s iPhone 14 is a good upgrade.
The iPhone 14 keeps the instantly recognizable design and, astonishingly, the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13 (which is, granted, a ferociously strong processor in and of itself), but it also fails to advance the art in a manner that would allow Apple to compete with competitors.
We now have two distinct iPhone tiers for the first time in a while: Basic, for want of a better term, which includes this iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Plus, and what I’ll call Premium, which includes the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The A15 Bionic processor was used in every iPhone model the year before. The Apple iPhone 14 and 14 Plus get the A15 Bionic this year, while the iPhone 14 Pro Max and Pro get the upgraded A16 Bionic. The fact that the iPhone 13 tiny did not get an update is also crucial to keep in mind since it suggests that its short shelf life may be running out.
I absolutely like the way the iPhone 14 looks and feels, despite the fact that it doesn’t represent a big advancement. The new colours and lack of a SIM card port, however, may be the only things that set it apart from the iPhone 13 in my hands.

The iPhone 14 is a somewhat more powerful phone than the previous model, at least in certain areas, and it may still exceed some recently released Android phones in terms of raw performance.
With their notch-free screens and 48MP cameras, the fashionable new iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max will force people to turn away from the iPhone 14 in favour of them.

iPhone 14 Design & Display
The iPhone 14 has a perfect design. The new Dynamic Island, a fungible zone that holds both the TrueDepth module and display information, is a feature of both the new iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Even if it is a close replica of the iPhone 13, it could not measure up.
For those who are unfamiliar with the design language Apple first introduced with the iPhone 12, the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 is simply a few electronics between two luxurious slabs of glass that may or may not be Gorilla Glass Victus. On the cover screen, the Ceramic Shield is still visible, adding another line of defence.

The roughly 75.1mm x 146.7mm x 7.65mm (0.30 inches) 173g body is held together by a svelte band made of aluminium. The speaker grille, microphone, and button placement are identical to those of the iPhone 13. The bigger power, sleep, and Siri buttons are on the right, while the volume controls are below the quiet slider on the left.
On the base, between the speaker grill and microphone holes, is what may be the lightning port’s ultimate performance. Apple is being pushed by the European Union to replace the device ports on its products with USB-C by 2024, but for this model, it is sticking with lights. Your outdated cables will all be content.
This is the first iPhone to do so, replacing the physical SIM slot with an all-eSIM system. It is shocking to see a smartphone without its immediately recognizable panel and the little hole for the necessary tool to pop out the SIM tray.
The back’s relatively square camera array is still there and doesn’t seem to have changed from the iPhone 13. There are two 12MP cameras, one of which has a wide angle and the other an ultra-wide angle.
Given how identical so much of the design is, the lovely new purple body colour choice for the iPhone from Apple could be the most intriguing feature of the gadget. Purple is indeed the “it” colour for devices this year, with Apple following Samsung in using it for its Galaxy S 22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro.

The iPhone 14 essentially retains the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display from the iPhone 13. Yes, the notch is still there, and it still holds a 12MP camera in addition to the updated TrueDepth module with all the AR sensors. The resolution is still 460 ppi at 2532 x 1170 pixels.
Magsafe
Even though it doesn’t seem like the phone has any quicker charging enhancements, MagSafe wireless charging is still supported.
iPhone 14 Camera & Battery
A 12MP wide camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP TrueDepth camera on the front make up the three cameras that make up the Apple iPhone 14.
Apple claims to have updated the primary camera with a larger /1.5 aperture and larger 1.9 m pixels for better low-light performance. The 12MP wide-angle remains unchanged. The front TrueDepth camera does, however, now have focusing powers.
Even though I only had a short amount of time in the demo room, I did use all the lenses, and I thought the photographs were passable, but I still need to practice. I must say that after seeing the focus of the new TrueDepth camera in action, I can understand how beneficial it will be.
There are also a couple of additional camera modes available. Now, 4K recordings in Cinematic Mode may be made at 30 and 24 frames per second.
There is also New Action Mode, a kind of electronic gimbal that eliminates choppy footage by inadvertently smart-cropping as you go. It’s a good concept, but I think you lose a lot of the movie’s content that isn’t directly tied to your topic.
Despite never mentioning battery capacity, Apple has stated that the iPhone 14 has the longest battery life of any iPhone to date. That must be interpreted as at least 15 hours, although it might also indicate a whole day or more of viewing videos. I’d have to put these claims to the test.
Apple iPhone 14 Hardware & Software
The iPhone 14 is powered by Apple’s A15 Bionic technology, which is one year old. The A15 Bionic is still the top mobile CPU in its industry, which is disappointing given that it does not include the newest technology.
The 6-core CPU and 5-core GPU are not weak performers in terms of performance across a range of tasks. I was able to observe some gameplay on the iPhone 14, and it naturally appeared fluid.
I’ll hold off on making any conclusions until I evaluate Apple’s upgraded thermal design in the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus, which might lead to some battery and performance gains.
Two exciting new features that are, in fact, included in the basic model of the iPhone 14 series are emergency satellite communications and collision detection.
The phone is equipped with a satellite communication system. As Apple said, they use the phone’s integrated antennas and some powerful algorithms to handle what is typically a very low-bandwidth connection (you have to be outside and have a clear view of the sky).
You can always explain the fundamentals since it condenses text messages and offers some straightforward boilerplate messaging. Although you may first try the application for free, you’ll ultimately have to pay for it. However, it is not clear how much.
When your automobile is in an accident, crash detection, which was also a function of the Apple Watch 8, may quickly convey the problem. I have little doubt that efforts to evade detection will soon be seen.
It may be difficult to simulate a crash or a situation when satellite communication is required since we don’t know how well these services operate (though the satellite comms can also work in Find My scenarios).
However, we have a better understanding of the program and user interface. Although it still has many significant advancements, iOS still has many of its signature design touches that are instantly recognizable. The public betas of iOS 16 have been available to many of us for months.
The most notable of these is the new lock screen. The iPhone’s business card, the Lock Screen, announces its intentions to you and the rest of the world as the first thing you see when you pick up the phone (or was before the always-on display).
New fonts and letter sizes have given it a strong new look, and the picture segmentation that may overlay a portion of your image is a stunning effect. The ability to add customized widgets has further increased the utility of the lock screen.
Improved notifications (which no longer dominate the lock screen) and the ability to utilize several lock screens, each with a different focus setting, are features that new iPhone 14 owners will find appealing.
With the new maps, users will be able to easily insert picture themes into apps and communications, generate multi-stop routes, amend and recover outgoing text messages, and more.
Since each of the new platform’s capabilities has the ability to significantly alter how you utilize and see the iPhone 14, you should take a closer look at a few of them. The new Lock Screen looked amazing on the phone we tested it on.
By the way, the whole iPhone 14 series is 5G and makes its debut in a world with far more robust 5G coverage.
